About Us
The Minson Company, L. P. began in 1958 with a visit to the Orcutt area by the original general partners, Larkin Minor (the “Min” in Minson) and Stuart Bartleson (the “son” in Minson). Vandenberg Air Force Base was expanding at the time signaling a need for
housing and retail services in the
Orcutt area. Thus began the construction of the Lake Marie area with housing and the Oak Knolls area with a Safeway Market and surrounding housing tracts in 1962 and 1963. In 1978, construction was begun on the Oak Knolls South Center
which at that time housed the Oak Knolls Bowl and the Mid State Bank along with many shops, restaurants and other services. In 1999, construction was started in the South Center on a Albertson’s Market and was completed in 2000 along with many other sections where today, we have McDonalds, Taco Bell and a host of other businesses.
We currently have 65 units in Oak Knolls North Center and 27 units in Oak Knolls South Center.
